THE
BIRTH OF WILLIE
We're asked
often about the origins of Willie, our lab robot. So,
we're writing an online book about him! We've
published the prologue online.

Join the experts at Washington Laboratories with a deep dive
into the requirements for Europe. This workshop, following on the
Export This! presentation on February 9th, will examine the
requirements for EMC, Product Safety, Radio and related regulatory
requirements for complying with the Directives that govern
equipment compliance for the 300million+ population of the EU.
In the nearly 20 years since the establishment of the CE Marking
for products, trade with the European Union has bloomed. This is
due in large part to the harmonization of technical requirements
and the internationalization of the product standards. This has
opened the door for US manufacturers to place their products into
the global swirl of trade.
Description:
The enactment of common requirements for electrical and
electronics products has created higher quality, safer and more
effective products. The requirements have been aimed at Regulatory
requirements, but have had a large effect on device functionality
and efficacy. Good Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) design
minimizes the threat of interference and ensures proper
functioning in the environment. Product safety principles that are
integrated into the design provide protection against shock, fire
and related hazards. The explosion of wireless devices requires
strict adherence to effective use of the spectrum.
All of these critical aspects of modern electronics design and
conformance will be addressed during this effective and
informative half-day session. Join us for this great overview and
a FREE Lunch, too!
