Safety Approvals

Complete safety service. To improve free trade in international markets, product safety requirements have been harmonized. Products that comply with these standards and directives will be able to take full advantage of this harmonization, thus securing their place in the world marketplace. U.S., Canadian, European and international product safety approvals can be secured with one stop at Washington Labs.

With the advantage of being a TUV Rheinland Partner Test lab, WLL can perform in house product safety testing to obtain US, Canadian, and European approvals all at one location.  WLL also offers UL approvals via the witness test program and performs completion evaluations for CE Marking requirements.  The bottom line is that WLL streamlines the safety approval process, reduces testing costs and cuts your precious time-to-market.

Restriction of Hazardous Substances and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment RoHS/WEEE

In response to imminent regulations for electronics manufacturers, we have developed the RoHS\WEEE Compliance Assessment Program (R\W-CAP). This program, provided at your facility, includes orientation training on the Directives, defining the applicability of the Directives to your particular industry/product offerings and the R\W-CAP guide gap review for current and ongoing compliance management.

The Standards Services Division conducts standards-related programs and provides knowledge and services that will strengthen the U.S. economy, to ensure recognition and use of U.S. standards domestically and in the global marketplace; promote worldwide acceptance of U.S. test and calibration data to facilitate the marketing of U.S. products; and provide assistance to industry, trade associations, and exporters through its operations, training and information programs.

There are many dynamic areas of standards-setting in the area of technology products, software, homeland security and related disciplines in modern American life. Mike Violette provided a little "look under the hood" at some of the domestic and international activities.
