About Environmental Testing
Environmental testing demonstrates the ability of a product to survive harsh conditions under use, including storage and shipping. Testing during the prototyping stage can determine deficiencies in design, allowing modifications to be made prior to commencing production, and testing during the production stage can show the robustness and reliability of a finished product to potential buyers. Compliance with environmental test standards highlights a manufacturer’s commitment to providing high-quality, thoroughly tested products to their market, both domestically and world-wide.
An environmental test plan or procedure assesses the required conditions for testing based on the expected life cycle of the product prior to testing, in order to determine applicable tests and test levels. Some examples of these tests include operational high and low temperatures, shipping transportation vibration, and resistance to corrosion. Test plans also lay the groundwork for testing schedules, compliance requirements, and sequence of testing, all which are vital to a consistent and successful environmental test program.
We also provide training on environmental testing and offer consultation services to support your product design in the area of environmental, EMC and electrical safety compliance.
Environmental testing assesses the ability of equipment to withstand harsh conditions under use, storage and shipping. An environmental test program consists of assessing profiles to simulate the conditions depending on the installation environment.
Environmental testing may also assess the ruggedness of equipment. HALT/HASS or Highly Accelerated Life Testing and Highly Accelerated Stress Screening simulate is used to assess the long-term effects of environmental stresses.
